The Professional pedestal system (14,8 – 17,8 cm) is ideal for medium installation heights and combines self-leveling and fixing in a single, innovative system. Thanks to its modular design, high load-bearing capacity, and integrated impact sound insulation, you can install your terrace safely, precisely, and with lasting stability.
Advantages at a glance
- Modular system with maximum load-bearing capacity
- Self-leveling system with integrated fixing option (conversion into pedestal bearings with fixed head)
- 2mm or 4mm joint
- Dual function: They can use the bearing either self-leveling or fixed, without You will need additional parts. By turning the locking ring, you block the self-leveling mechanism. This converts the self-leveling pedestal into a pedestal with a fixed head.

- Modular concept: The use of just a few basic components significantly reduces complexity and the risk of incorrect orders.
The entire system, from a height of 2,8 cm to a height of 30 cm, consists of only four components:
– two different types of pedestal supports and
– two different adapter heights - Integrated sound insulation: An anti-slip and anti-acoustic pad is firmly integrated into the joint head and effectively dampens impact sound.

- Enormous resilience: The high-quality, reinforced polypropylene enables extremely high load-bearing capacity across the entire adjustment range. This has been clearly proven through intensive testing.

- Maximum durability: The material is UV and weather resistant and can easily withstand temperatures from -40 °C to +80 °C.
- Easy adjustment: You can adjust the height intuitively using a screwdriver or our multi-function key.
Explanation of the system
The heart of the Professional series is the movable head, which functions according to the physical principle of a kitchen scale. As soon as you place the plates on it, the head automatically levels itself because the weight is evenly distributed on all sides. This allows the system to compensate for a slope of up to 5% in the subfloor.

Furthermore, the modular concept offers a decisive advantage for your planning.
Since the system consists of a few, multifunctional parts, you always have the right material available on the construction site.
As a result, you avoid expensive reorders, which often arise in conventional systems due to incorrect quantity calculations for the different installation heights.
Assembly: Step-by-step instructions
The installation process follows logical steps and can be safely implemented even without specialist knowledge:
- Positioning at the edge: Always start laying the tiles at an edge where the laying of entire slabs is intended.
Position the pedestals as close to the edge as possible (to prevent the edge plates from tipping). To get as close to the edge as possible, you can saw off the base of the pedestals along the perforations.

Please simply break off any unnecessary joint spacers at the edge using flat-nose pliers or the multi-function key.

- Laying slabs: Place the slabs on the pedestals.

- Height adjustment: Adjust the height using a spirit level and the optional multi-function key, and then proceed with the installation.

Do you have to screw the pedestals?
In principle, the outermost row of pedestals should be fixed..
If a screw connection is possible depends on the terrace condition1. What is the outermost row of pedestals?
The outermost row of pedestals is a row to an open edge. An open edge is an edge that is not enclosed by walls or fixed fixing angles.
A typical 'open edge' is the last row of a balcony railing.
2. Why should the outermost row of pedestals be fixed?
The reason is that there should be no shifts in the outermost row of plates.
3. How can the fixation be done?
This depends on the nature of the subfloor:
On a concrete subfloor the pedestal can be screwed in. .
On a sealing layer the pedestal must be glued to the layer. Otherwise, the sealing layer will be damaged. -
Do I absolutely have to use construction protection pads under every pedestal support?
Yes, we recommend this. Construction protection pads fulfill two critical functions: They protect your sensitive waterproofing layer (e.g., bitumen sheets) from mechanical damage caused by pressure and friction. At the same time, they act as acoustic decoupling, significantly reducing impact noise. Depending on the substrate, we offer standard pads or a special aluminum-laminated version.
Please note the following distinction:1. Installation on a concrete substrate (shown in blue in the image)

The following purposes are served by the bee protection pads:
- In leveling of unevenness and the
- secure footing of the pedestal bearing
We recommend using our [product/service] here Standard construction protection pads.
2. Installation on waterproofing membranes

Here, building protection pads also serve to protect the sealing layer.
The use of our two types of building protection pads now differs according to the type of sealing (please check the type of sealing before use).Material Common trade names, e.g. Standard building protection pad Aluminum-laminated building protection pad FPO / TPO Bauder Thermoplan™®

What problems can arise when installing pedestal supports?
The following problems can arise based on our 15 years of experience:
Cause Consequence Solution Pedestal supports are not stable and wobble. The laid slabs evolve upon occurrence – Dismantling
– Outmatched by Building protection pads
– Setting up new storage facilities
Checking the substrate: it must be firm and must not give way!dust or grains > the pedestal bearing Crunch Cleaning Dust or grains between the pedestal bearing and the plate Crunch Cleaning, possibly. Anti-slip pad attach No edge mounting Plates shift at the edge, this results in an irregular joint pattern. a) In the case of a house wall: dismantling and installation of edge finishing clips
b) If one side is open: Disassemble and screw or glue the outermost row of pedestals in place. -
Do I absolutely need the multi-function key?
A standard screwdriver is sufficient for installing a handful of pedestals. For terraces larger than... 30m² However, we recommend this accessory because it is not only ergonomic but also combines several functions.
-
Is the load capacity of 1,6 tons stable even at maximum extension?
Yes. The Professional pedestal is designed to maintain stability across the entire adjustment range of 4,3 to 5,8 cm (and beyond with adapters). The 1,6-ton breaking load is the laboratory-tested breaking load, providing you with enormous safety reserves for heavy planters or hot tubs.
The 1,6 ton load capacity refers to a horizontal position of the pedestal head.
With the head tilted at 5°, this laboratory load is reduced by approximately 15-20%, depending on the temperature.
However, this load-bearing capacity is more than sufficient when you consider that a 2cm ceramic slab has a breaking load of approximately 700-800kg (which is distributed across four pedestals!). -
When should I lock the self-leveling head?
If the weight distribution is uneven, you should secure the head.
This unequal distribution always occurs where plates of different sizes directly meet, as is typically the case at the edges.
The pedestal head of the Professional pedestal is fixed via the fixing ring which is integrated as standard in the Professional pedestal.
This fixing ring is tightened in the horizontal position of the head.
Since this fixed pedestal support can no longer react to a slope, please use our [product/service] to set up a slope compensation. Leveling discs 1mm and 3 mmPlace these under the pedestal support.

-
Do I really need to saw off the base of the pedestal at the edge?
Not strictly necessary, but highly recommended. Only by shortening the base along the perforation will the bearing's center of gravity be positioned close enough to the wall. This prevents the edge plate from creating a leverage effect when the outer edge is stepped on, significantly reducing the risk of the plates tipping over.
If you want to completely secure the slab against tipping, you must secure the edge slab to all pedestals using hybrid adhesive stick them on the surface the board rests on.
