The installation is efficient and precise, taking place in just a few steps:

  1. Positioning pedestals: Place the bearings on the solid ground according to your plan and set the approximate height now.

    This effect can be reduced by using anti-acoustic pads or additional centrally mounted pedestals. However, you cannot exclude this effect.

    In contrast, when laying wood and WPC boards, this 'hollow' impression is not noticeable.
    These materials are much softer and therefore have better acoustic properties.

    2.2 The underground is underestimated

    A stable, load-bearing subsurface is the basic requirement for any terrace installation.

    If the subsoil is loose (eg compacted gravel) we would recommend using pressure distribution elements. For example, these are inexpensive concrete blocks with a thickness of 3 to 4 cm.

    In contrast, laying on concrete surfaces is possible without any problems.

    In any case, it becomes interesting again when laying on an insulating layer, because in this case the insulation should be pressure-resistant.
    For example, this is the case with extruded insulation elements (e.g. XPS) are almost always the case.

These leveling discs are placed under the pedestal support.
Due to the resulting load of the supporting structure, these remain in place and no longer shift.
In the case of several leveling discs lying on top of each other – e.g. in the case of very uneven surfaces – we recommend using an assembly adhesive to permanently fix the leveling discs.

Realize narrow edge finishing areas!

In practice, it is usually not possible to use entire slabs due to the given dimensions.
Therefore, the implementation of narrow edge slabs is often necessary, especially in the edge area.
In this respect, the 'Titan' pedestal support is particularly well suited for this purpose, as it can be cut at the base to a width of up to 13,5 cm!
This makes it possible to produce extremely narrow edge slabs.

First, however, we will show you how to lay narrow edge slabs on our ‘Titan’ pedestals:

  • Turn the pedestal over and draw a cutting line outside the pre-stamped lines at intervals of 1 cm (the two lines in the picture below).
  • Cut the pedestal support along these lines. The pedestal remains fully functional, but is now only 13,5 cm wide, making it ideal for narrow edge areas!

The following pictures show the exact sequence of the installation of the narrow edge zone pedestals:

First, place the pedestal with the edge clips.
Then position the edge slab.
And finally, put on the next whole slab!

With our new titanium pedestals you can also easily install drainage channels.
The assembly is carried out using the following steps:

  • First, cut the (narrow) pedestals and position all the pedestals and the edge finishing clips. The positioning is shown in the first picture below.
  • Then screw the base element of the drainage channel directly into the pedestal and then place the grating cover on top.
  • Finally, place the porcelain stoneware tiles or the other floor covering against the installed drainage channels.
