Explanation of the system
The system serves as a vertical terrace edge finish (edge cladding/edge trim). It was designed to professionally close the gap between the flooring and the substructure and to visually conceal the pedestal substructure.
The system consists of:
- the edge trim (coated aluminum profile, 2,70m long) as well as
- including perfectly fitting corner pieces and connectors.
Since the edge trim is matched to the panel thickness of 2 cm, a flush, harmonious edge is created.

Installation of the terrace edge cladding
The installation is designed for a clean, continuous edge appearance. Ensure that the terrace edge cladding extends to the ground or very close to the ground.

- Cut the pedestal supports at one edge and attach the edge trim: Cut the pedestals along the perforation at the bottom. Break off any excess joint tabs. Connect the longer sides of the edge trim using our connectors, and then place the edge trim onto the pedestals.
- Attach edge trim (optional) and lay the panels: Optionally, glue the edge trim to the pedestals using our hybrid adhesive and begin laying the slabs. Beforehand, cut the edge slabs to the required dimensions (if necessary).
- Place the remaining platters on top: Lay the remaining tiles on top. For outside corners, please use our corner pieces for clean 90-degree angles.

Planning notes / Material requirements
- Measure the required edge lengths and plan for corner pieces for all 90-degree corners.
- Choose the height to match the actual installation height (distance between the top edge of the existing floor and the top edge of the tile covering).
For example, if you have a construction height of 12cm, then select the edge trim in 12cm as well.
- Use connectors for straight sections longer than 2,70 m.
- Use the automatic compatibility check in the configurator.
Care / Maintenance
Clean the powder-coated surface with water and a mild detergent as needed. Avoid harsh chemicals.

What height should I choose if my terrace is exactly between two measurements?
Ideally, choose the height that most closely matches your actual installation height without exceeding it. The edge trim should be as close to the floor as possible to completely conceal the substructure. Our online configurator automatically checks this for you and suggests alternative solutions such as flexible edge profiles for intermediate dimensions (e.g., 11 cm).

Can I also use the edge trim for 3 cm thick panels?
The system is technically designed for a Panel thickness of 2 cm (Porcelain stoneware or natural stone) optimized to ensure a flush top edge. With thicker slabs, a slight offset may occur at the top edge. In this case, you should check beforehand whether the visual edge meets your requirements or whether you need an alternative profile.

Do I need to miter the profiles for the corners?
No, that's one of the biggest advantages of this system. Because of the Perfectly fitting corner pieces You can achieve clean 90-degree angles by simply sliding the profiles into the corner piece or bridging them with it. This saves time and prevents messy cut edges on the visible side.

How is the edge cladding securely attached to the terrace?
The edge trim is secured using the system logic of the pedestal supports (such as Professional, EasyPro, or Titan). The profiles are positioned so that they are held vertically by the weight of the supporting terrace slabs and the special brackets of the pedestal supports. Connectors provide additional stability between the individual profile segments along straight sections.

Is the aluminum profile resistant to rust and road salt?
Yes, the material consists of high quality aluminum, which is caused by a matt powder coating It is additionally protected. Unlike steel, aluminum cannot rust. The coating is weather-resistant and UV-stable, which we underline with a 10-year guarantee. If exposed to aggressive road salt in winter, we recommend simple cleaning with clean water in spring.

Why is the SmartWabic system only compatible with heights of 10 cm and above?
This is due to its design: The "SmartWabic" raised floor system requires a certain minimum height because of its rail construction, so that the edge trim can be mounted stably and flush. For lower installation heights (6 or 8 cm), the classic pedestal support series such as... EasyPro or Titan more suitable.

Are the connectors and corner pieces automatically included in the delivery?
It depends on your order. If you purchase a pre-configured set via the configurator, the system automatically calculates the required connectors and corner pieces and includes them. If you purchase individual items, you must add the accessories to your shopping cart separately. Therefore, always check the item description or use the configurator for a complete bill of materials.
