The 20x20cm building protection pad reliably protects your roof insulation from pressure points caused by pedestals and compensates for unevenness in the substrate. Furthermore, its effective vibration decoupling ensures noticeably improved acoustics on your terrace.

Explanation of the system

This protective pad forms the basis for the secure installation of pedestals, especially on sensitive surfaces such as flat roofs. The material consists of PUR-bonded rubber granules, which are both flexible and extremely pressure-resistant. This allows the pad to distribute the weight of the entire terrace evenly and protect the underlying waterproofing from mechanical damage.

Important planning note: If your sealing membrane is not resistant to plasticizers, please also use our EPDM tape as a base under the pad. This will prevent chemical reactions between the membrane and the rubber granules.

Assembly: Step-by-step instructions

You can install the pads easily and without special tools. Simply follow these steps:

  1. Cleaning: Roughly clean the surface of stones, dirt, or sharp objects.
  2. Optional separating layer: For substrates sensitive to plasticizers, first roll out the EPDM tape or use the aluminum-laminated version of the pad.
  3. Place pad: Place the building protection pad flat on the sealant exactly where the pedestal is to be positioned.
  4. Install pedestal supports: Place the pedestal support (fixed head or self-leveling) in the center of the 20x20cm pad.
  5. Check position: Check that the bearing is stable before proceeding with the assembly of the rest of the structure.

Delivery

The pads will be delivered in the quantity you ordered, as individual pads measuring 20x20cm. Please note that additional accessories such as EPDM strips or adjustable pedestals must be ordered separately.

Planning notes / Material requirements

We recommend planning for exactly one pad for each support point of your structure (pedestals or rail supports). This ensures that the load is distributed evenly and the roof insulation remains protected everywhere.

Care / Maintenance

The rubber granules are extremely weather-resistant, rot-proof, and therefore completely maintenance-free. After professional installation under the pedestals, the pad retains its protective properties for the entire lifespan of your terrace.
